HECTOR DOMBO Specialist Enterprise, Finance and Agribusiness Development Hector Dombo is an animal scientist with eight years of experience in research and agricultural development. He has experience in product development, feasibility studies, monitoring and evaluation of agriculture and rural development programmes, and design of micro, small, and medium-sized enterprise impact evaluations. Hector joined ECIAfrica in 2006; he writes technical proposals, manages budgeting, and identifies new business opportunities. Before joining ECIAfrica, Hector was a Manager for emerging agriculture with the First Rand Group in Johannesburg, where he was involved in agricultural procurement (Agripro) for national agricultural clients. In 2003, Hector worked for Stock Owners, managing the Developing Farmers' Business Unit, which identified mechanisms through which dead rural assets could be revived and mainstreamed into the agricultural economy. From 1998 to 2000, Hector was a Researcher at the Agricultural Research Council of South Africa. In 2000 he joined the development wing of Senwes as an Agricultural Specialist and identified business opportunities that assisted in further increasing the overall Business Development portfolio of the company. Hector holds a master's degree in animal science from the University of Pretoria and an honours degree and a bachelor's degree in agriculture from the University of Venda for Science and Technology.
