|  | ECIAfrica's Finance Division is seeking a mature, responsible bookkeeper who is able to work well under pressure and has strong work ethics. The bookkeeper will report to the Senior Manager: Corporate Services Division.
- Handle foreign based creditors, subcontractors and employees
- Ensure that bank reconciliations are complied with to enable a smooth process of effecting foreign payments.
- Ensure timeous and accurate payment of foreign based creditors, subcontractors and employees.
- Prepare supplier reconciliations and process supplier invoices / credit notes.
- Ensuring that relevant authorised supporting documentation accompanies all invoices and payments to be processed.
- Reconcile Creditors statement to identify all outstanding invoices.
- Follow up on outstanding invoices and invoices without purchase order numbers with relevant parties.
- Ensure that all internal control measures are complied with before payments are effected (see detailed steps under "handling accounts of key creditors"
- Ensure that, where appropriate, reconciliations are completed before payments are made.
- Ensure that all foreign payments and transactions are accurately reflected in the accounting records
- Handle supplier queries.
- Prepare and reconcile foreign currency cash book
- Handle accounts of key creditors.
- Ensure that the bank reconciliations are performed on a monthly basis and that appropriate.
- Request invoices and statements from suppliers prepare supplier reconciliations
- Capturing of timesheets into the accounting system.
- Supporting the annual audit process also be in a position to take on additional short-term assignments that may come from time to time.
- Diploma in Accounting or equivalent
- BComm is desirable
- Minimum of 5 years experience in bookkeeping activities
- Experience in handling foreign payments
- Excellent understanding of accounting packages e.g. Pastel and strong working knowledge of MS Office Suite
