LOVEJOY MALAMBO DR Manager Enterprise, Finance and Agribusiness Development Lovejoy Malambo is an agricultural, resource and rural development economist, with 20 years of experience in Africa. He has extensive experience in land use evaluation, as well as assessments of large and smallholder farming systems, small-scale irrigation systems, dry and wet land agriculture and conservation projects. Lovejoy served as the Director of Policy Planning, Information and Legal Services as well as Agricultural Economics in the North West Province for eight years (1999-2007), and has been an advisor on behalf of the Department of Agriculture, Conservation and Environment to other government departments, parastatal organizations, boards, and municipalities in South Africa. From 1979 to 1992, he was a Senior Lecturer and Head of Department at the University of Zambia and the University of the North West, South Africa. While at the University of the North West, Lovejoy developed a post-graduate programme in agricultural economics and management. In Zambia, from 1987 to 1992 and from 1997 to 1998, Lovejoy consulted to various ministries and international organisations (such as United States Agency for International Development, Netherlands Development Agency, and the United Nations Development Fund) agricultural and rural development and also developed a Poverty Reduction Plan for the Republic of Zambia 1997 to 1998. Lovejoy has a PhD in agricultural and resource development economics from Michigan State University, an MSc in agricultural economics and rural sociology from Ohio State University, a BSc from the University of Zambia, and performed post doctoral studies at Oxford University.
