MANDISA MASHOLOGU

Mandisa Mashologu is a regional trade specialist with 12 years of experience in economic and policy development, and implementation of poverty reduction programmes. She provides technical advice in regional trade development on various USAID-funded projects in Botswana, Namibia, Angola, Zambia and South Africa. The projects are designed to build capacity of small and medium-sized enterprises through business linkages, trade and investment partnerships. Before coming to ECIAfrica, Mandisa served as Senior Policy Advisor at the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), focusing on technical and advisory support to the Government of Lesotho on issues of poverty reduction, trade development, and HIV/AIDS. Her role included serving as UNDP's representative on Lesotho's Poverty Reduction Strategy Programme Technical Committee and providing support to the development of the country's Poverty Reduction Strategy and National Vision 2020. Mandisa also supervised the UK Department for International Development's flagship HIV/AIDS programme, which included institutional strengthening of the National AIDS Secretariat, implementation of the Community Capacity Enhancement programme, and development of manuals to address the pandemic at the public service, community, and individual level. Mandisa formed part of the international team that undertook Lesotho's Diagnostic Trade Integration Study and Investment Policy Review, and developed a programme of support to implement the recommendations as part of the poverty reduction programme.

Mandisa holds a BA Hons Degree in economics from Trent University in Canada and an MA in economics from Lakehead University also in Canada.
