MARK BANNISTER Senior Specialist Governance and Public Sector Management Mark Bannister is an infrastructure management specialist with a focus in water and sanitation service delivery. He currently manages the Infrastructure Delivery Improvement Programme in KwaZulu Natal and Free State, where he is involved in strengthening government process and capacity to deliver education and health-related infrastructure. Mark has 17 years of experience in infrastructure delivery both in the UK, where he specialized in managing large bulk water and sanitation projects, and in South Africa. After taking up residence in South Africa in 1996, Mark worked for the Mvula Trust, where he became Limpopo Regional Manager, responsible for the Provincial Office of 18 staff and overseeing more than 300 rural water and sanitation projects. In 2004, he joined Umgeni Water in KwaZulu Natal as a Senior Specialist in rural and bulk water and sanitation infrastructure, and later as Business Development Manager for their commercial division. Mark holds a B.Eng (Hons) in mechanical engineering from Loughborough University, and is a Chartered Engineer with the Institute of Mechanical Engineers in UK. Return to Technical Experts | |||||
