NEW DIRECTORS APPOINTED Benjamin Feit and Golden Mahove Join ECIAfrica's Board of Directors Author: ECIAfrica Date: March 6, 2008 ECIAfrica's Board has elected Benjamin Feit and Golden Mahove as Directors. A partly owned subsidiary of DAI, ECIAfrica is a South African economic and management development consulting firm. Formed in 1994 through a joint venture between DAI and South African development experts, ECIAfrica remains a strategic partner of DAI with deep corporate ties, including overlapping history, personnel, and mission. ECIAfrica benefits from seamless cooperation with DAI and access to the company's global network of resources, technical expertise, and project management systems. In 2005, Ben Feit was seconded from DAI to Johannesburg to assist in building ECIAfrica's new service line in Governance and Public Sector Management (GPSM). After three years of rapid growth, GPSM now makes up a third of the company's revenue, with an array of projects largely geared to strengthening South Africa's capacity to deliver basic services and social infrastructure. Preparing for his return to DAI later this year, Ben is currently transferring day-to-day management of GPSM to Sipho Dayel, a senior South African colleague who has been with GPSM since its inception. "Ben's election to the Board is a tribute to the organizational and technical development he has facilitated at ECIAfrica. It underscores the personal and professional bonds between our two companies and the continuing value in the relationship we enjoy," commented DAI CEO Tony Barclay, who chairs the ECIAfrica Board. "In his new role, Ben will remain actively involved in ECIAfrica, fostering the exchange of information and support while applying in DAI's global operations the lessons he has learned through his secondment." Golden Mahove joined ECIAfrica in 2003 and currently manages the Enterprise, Finance and Agribusiness Development Division. An expert in enterprise development and agribusiness with 15 years of experience designing, managing, and implementing development programs throughout Eastern and Southern Africa, he has been instrumental in building ECIAfrica's capability in performing subsector analyses, designing voucher programs, and conducting impact analyses and surveys. "Golden's election to ECIAfrica's Board recognizes his outstanding contributions to the company and widens management participation in corporate governance," said Job Mokgoro, Managing Director of ECIAfrica. With this election, ECIAfrica's Board now comprises seven Directors. DAI's Tony Barclay and Benjamin Feit are joined by internal Directors Job Mokgoro and Golden Mahove, and by three external Directors: Mutle Mogase, Soto Ndukwana, and Bethuel Setai.
